Women & Wine on Wednesdays was created by Linda Brewster Meffert in early 2005 in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a way for women to improve lifestyle balance by re-connecting with friends, making new acquaintances, and being open to develop new ideas and relationships.

Christy Hackenberg and Gaby Tillero created the branding for the concept, after mutual friend, Sandra Lombana introduced them to Linda Meffert. The four women founded the New Orleans location in 2005.

Over the years, many women in many cities have come to enjoy this same opportunity made available by the expansion of Women & Wine on Wednesdays into cities around the country.

"We're so happy to bring this unique concept to San Antonio,
and are committed to the mission of helping connect women in San Antonio.
We're proud to be the 14th group of Women & Wine on Wednesdays as of October 2011
We look forward to seeing you soon!"

Linda Brewster-Meffert first began Women & Wine on Wednesdays in 2005, as a way to bring together like-minded women to share resources and collaborate to create new opportunities to improve both ourselves and our community.  Since then, many others have come to enjoy this unique opportunity as the concept has been selectively launched in many other cities.  Linda loves strategic planning; her role as Director of Business Information Systems at iHeartMedia enables her to leverage technology, business process improvement, and data analysis to improve decision-making.  Linda serves on the Engagement Committee of the International Enneagram Association and Membership Chair for Clear Communicators' Toastmasters.  Linda founded the San Antonio Coffee Festival in 2010 - an annual celebration showcasing local coffee roasters and cafes, featuring a Specialty Coffee Tasting Flight.  Watch for her articles in the San Antonio Edible magazine: "Linda the Coffee Lady".

Charity Matthews grew up on the east coast between New England and Maryland, especially enjoying the years she lived in a beach house overlooking Chesapeake Bay.  She moved to Texas in 2009.  She has three children, the world's best boyfriend, and 4 dogs (3 are rescue dogs).  She has a passion for helping others and loves to support charity events, especially cancer programs since she is a cancer survivor.  Charity enjoys wearing multiple hats.  She is a Business Development Representative with Globalscape, a teacher at UTSA Small Business Development Center since 2014, and has been a Realtor since 2005. She loves to meet new people and takes great pride in being a "people-connector".   Her favorite quote: "You will get all you want in life if you help enough people get what they want."

Amy Gonzalez is the Founder and Owner of the Love Shack Boutique.  She is a graduate of University of Texas - San Antonio with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and is a Certified Sex Educator through the American College of Sexologists.  Amy is a professional associate of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the San Antonio Women's Chamber of Commerce.  Amy is a passionate advocate for sensual health and believes that every person deserves access to information that can enhance quality of life and relationships.  Her goal when she opened the Love Shack Boutique was to not only empower women, but also to provide individuals, couples, and healthcare providers with the tools necessary to support positive sexual health and intimacy needs.  Amy is thrilled to be leading social media and venue-booking for Women & Wine on Wednesdays in San Antonio.
