Women & Wine on Wednesdays was created by Linda Brewster Meffert in early 2005 in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a way for women to improve lifestyle balance by re-connecting with friends, making new acquaintances, and being open to develop new ideas and relationships.

Christy Hackenberg and Gaby Tillero created the branding for the concept, after mutual friend, Sandra Lombana introduced them to Linda Meffert. The four women founded the New Orleans location in 2005.

Over the years, many women in many cities have come to enjoy this same opportunity made available by the expansion of Women & Wine on Wednesdays into cities around the country.

Introducing the Hosts of the Arlington group

Arlington's Women & Wine on Wednesdays, a Business & Social Network for Women,
is pleased to introduce the hosts of our group:

Amber Stevens,  Keri Shull & Lauren O'Brien

Amber Stevens was born in San Diego, CA. Growing up as a “Navy brat” she has lived in many places such as Philadelphia, PA and Charleston, SC before her family finally settled down in Michigan.
After living in MI for most of her life, she decided to relocate to the Arlington area in January 2011 for a new adventure. It has been quite the adventure and she’s been very lucky to meet wonderful people both professionally and personally. She currently works as an Insurance Agent providing Home, Auto, Life Insurance and Annuities through Liberty Mutual Insurance. She has been an insurance agent since 2006 and before that a make-up artist specializing in make-up for weddings and photography. Though currently a member of several networking groups, including BNI Arlington Connectors and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce,  Amber felt the need for a group that caters to improving the lives of women in the Arlington area, which is why she decided to start up the Arlington chapter along with the assistant founders. In her free time she loves playing with her Shih-Tzu/Jack Russell mix Bandit, running, swimming, white water rafting, hiking and exploring new restaurants and sites in the DC area. All in all Amber enjoys life's adventures big and small and can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Keri Shull was born is Portland, OR and spent the younger years of her life moving all over the country. She attended high school in Portland, ME & Seattle, WA, and then headed to Penn State for four years of crazy fun! She moved to the DC area right after college to work for NVHomes selling estate homes, and has been working the real estate industry ever since. She loves helping her clients buy and sell homes and feels so blessed to have found her true passion right out of college. In the last 2 years she has been fortunate to experience a great deal of growth and now has a team of seven.

Lauren O’Brien grew up in Vienna, VA and considers herself a long-winded boomerang, returning to Northern Virginia after attending Notre Dame, starting her career as a CPA in Chicago, and continuing her professional experience in London.  Now back in the area, she’s focusing on networking with other ambitious professionals and [re-]learning her city!  She works as a financial advisor, helping individuals and business owners structure their finances to achieve their life goals.  Her favorite things are travelling, wining and dining – especially in combination!  As a self-proclaimed lifeaholic, she encourages to adapt her mantra that life is not dress rehearsal.
