Women & Wine on Wednesdays connects women:
for building new relationships and for re-connecting old ones, both professionally and personally.  It provides an opportunity for women to share resources and discover new opportunities in New Orleans. Women & Wine on Wednesdays fulfills a need in New Orleans for an ongoing, social networking event for women; connecting people and resources, fostering an environment for idea exchange and discussion. Come enjoy a glass of wine, relax with old friends or meet new people.  Events are held each month on the third Wednesday. There are no dues or fees to participate and you don't even have to buy a drink.

This month's wines:
Vina Mein white blend from the Ribeiro region of Spain and
Septima Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina.

Viña Meín is made from the grape juice coming from our 16 hectares of vineyard: mainly traditional Treixadura and then different proportions of other native varieties such as Godello, Loureirra, Torrontés, albariño, Lado and Albilla.

Viña Meín is a well-balanced wine, fresh, dry, with a great fruity expression and aromas, which evolves well in the bottle and greatly surprises us with the passage of time.

100,000 bottles have been made with the harvest of 2007, in which Treixadura means 80% of the blending.

Color: Deep red with purple flashes.

Aroma: Fresh berries balanced with the oak of ageing, plus vanilla and roasted scents with touches of strawberry and cherry jams. Slightly reminiscent of rosemary, watermelon, pear and raspberry.

Taste: Smooth and elegant flavor of very sweet tannins reminding raspberry jam. A fruity aftertaste mixed with touches of smoked oak. Very balanced and persistent in the mouth.
